Mobile Phone Policy for Year 5 and 6

At St Joseph’s we understand that many parents want their children to have a mobile phone for safety reasons if they walk to and from school independently.  We recognise the importance of keeping in touch and ensuring safety during their journey. Therefore, students in these year groups are permitted to bring a mobile phone to school under specific guidelines.

When the children arrive at school, they’ll need to hand their phones in at the main office.  This helps ensure that the phones are safe and not a distraction during lessons.  At the end of the school day, they can collect their phones and take them home.

We believe that this system strikes a balance between enabling children to stay connected while also promoting a focussed learning environment.  It’s essential that we instil responsible use of technology, and this policy is designed to support that.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our mobile phone policy, please feel free to get in touch with us.  We appreciate your collaboration in making our school a safe and productive space for every child!
